Should I choose a plug-in or rechargeable LED light box sign?
A:The useful question is not "how bright" in the abstract but where the unit sits and how it is powered. Our LED range splits into two lines for exactly that reason: plug-in light boxes (JS-1 slim wall-mounted, JS-2 and JS-3 adjustable desktop stands) for positions with a socket and continuous operation, and rechargeable sign holders (JS-30 to JS-32) for tables and counters where a cable would be in the way.
Plug-in or rechargeable — how the two lines differ
| Criterion | Plug-in LED light box | Rechargeable LED sign holder |
|---|---|---|
| Models | JS-1 wall mounted, JS-2 / JS-3 desktop stand | JS-30 / JS-31 / JS-32 desktop |
| Power | Continuous mains operation | Built-in battery, no cable to the table |
| Best position | Wall, window and fixed counter with a nearby socket | Dining tables, reception counters, pop-up and event stands |
| Maintenance focus | No battery to age; diffuser and graphic are the service parts | The battery is the wear item — plan a fixed charging routine |
| Graphic change | Front-opening frame on the desktop models | Printed graphic slides out of the front face |
Specification points that matter over time
- Diffuser material — the diffuser is the part that dates most visibly, so specify a grade that resists yellowing rather than the cheapest sheet available.
- Heat management — the LED strip should sit on an aluminium backing plate; without it the LEDs de-rate and the sign loses brightness early.
- Driver quality — a constant-current driver holds brightness stable across a range of supply voltages, which matters where mains voltage fluctuates.
- Serviceability — a front-opening frame lets a restaurant or store change the printed menu without taking the whole unit off the wall.
Cost note
Chasing brightness above what the room needs raises power draw, heat and cost without improving readability. The useful question is what the sign faces and how far the customer stands from it — a menu board read from two metres and a poster seen across a mall concourse are different specifications.
