HotMaxx is one of China's leading discount retail chains, built around the concept of "extreme value for money." Its shelves are stocked with imported snacks, viral trending products, and daily essentials. By the end of 2025, HotMaxx had expanded to over 900 directly-operated stores across China's tier-1 to tier-3 cities. With 800–1,200 SKUs per store on average, HotMaxx stands as a flagship brand in China's new retail landscape.
The Challenge
HotMaxx stores feature high-density shelving and extremely fast inventory turnover — price tags need to be swapped and refreshed daily. Before adopting VIGO DISPLAY products, the chain faced three key merchandising pain points:

• Inconsistent SignageStores used signage holders of varying sizes, materials, and angles — creating visual clutter and undermining the brand's "value ≠ cheap" positioning.
• Standard Magnetic Holders Too Short
HotMaxx uses large-format price tags (A5 and above) that require taller backing support. Standard short-profile magnetic holders on the market couldn't provide enough display area or stability — tags would bend or obscure product information.
• End Caps & Promo Zones Lacked Flexible Display Tools
Promotional end caps and aisle stack-outs needed fast setup and teardown. Traditional paper inserts and adhesive methods were slow, prone to damage, and visually unappealing.

To address all three pain points, VIGO DISPLAY delivered a three-product solution, with the custom tall JR-1 Magnetic Shelf Sign Holder as the hero item.
Hero Product: JR-1 Custom Tall Magnetic Shelf Sign Holder
The standard JR-1 Magnetic Shelf Sign Holder is a short-profile model, designed for standard-sized price tags. However, after in-depth discussions and on-site store visits, our team discovered that HotMaxx consistently uses larger price tags with taller shelf gaps — the standard short version simply couldn't provide adequate vertical support, causing tags to overhang, bend, and look untidy.
Custom Engineering
We lengthened the display panel of the JR-1 while preserving the original magnetic base and transparent insert structure. The custom tall version now comfortably accommodates A5+ large-format price tags. Beyond better structural support, the taller proportion creates a more elegant visual line — the tag is fully protected within the transparent panel, and the elongated silhouette blends seamlessly into HotMaxx's clean, modern store aesthetic.
Supplementary: Standard Magnetic Clip Holder
Alongside the custom tall JR-1, HotMaxx also procured our standard Magnetic Clip Holder in volume. Featuring a strong magnetic base and spring-loaded clip, it snaps onto any metal shelf and allows one-handed tag swaps — ideal for rapid shelf-edge price updates.
